Teacher

The teaching profession, at all times, is one of the most important in society, because our children’s future, our future, depends on their efforts. It is the only person who spends most of his time professionally engaged in the upbringing and education of children. Teaching and nurturing are the two main functions of a teacher. This has always been the case, but our lives are changing, and we must understand that we must keep up with the times. Search for and find new methods and forms of work.

Today there are very high professional requirements to the teacher, such as universal education, erudition, awareness, progressiveness, ability to conduct interesting lessons, to give interesting tasks. The appearance and style of the teacher cannot be overlooked.

In my opinion, the worst thing in the teaching profession is the lack of a true vocation, indifference to children. After all, a child cannot be deceived. He will recognize falsity, react sharply to inattention, and will appreciate those teachers who treat him with respect and understanding. The teacher in any situation should be honest with his students, find a common language with them, understand children’s problems, and, of course, must be fluent in his subject, able to make each of his lessons interesting, productive, and most importantly memorable. A teacher must love every student equally: noisy and quiet, obedient and capricious, well-groomed and untidy, pretty and not so pretty, must put himself in his place. On the simple grounds that they, the students, are children. If the teacher is indifferent to the inner world of the child, to his experiences, he has no place in school, even if he knows his subject very well.

The modern teacher should bring out the best qualities inherent in the soul of each child, to encourage children so that they take pleasure in the acquired knowledge, so that after finishing school, they are clearly aware of their place in society. After all, school is an extremely important, independent and valuable stage of life’s journey. Will those years be happy and creative, or will they remain in the memory of a schoolchild filled with petty conflicts, dull rote learning and boredom, – much depends on the atmosphere at school, on his own relations with the teachers and students.

I think it is a very common and typical mistake of teachers to fail to discern the uniqueness of each student. Uniqueness of his character and specificity of his perception, his talent for certain subjects and frustration with not understanding difficult subjects. It is absolutely wrong to judge a child by some averaged, external indicators.

Teaching is not a profession, but a way of life. I am sure that the main thing in the work of the teacher – the development of the soul, the formation of character, the upbringing of a real person. For the modern teacher it is very important never to stop at what has been achieved, and necessarily go forward, because the work of the teacher – this is a great source for boundless creativity.
